Jarka and her partner Klara Zakopalova have advanced to the second round of the US Open doubles tournament, defeating Liga Dekmeijere (LAT) und Angelique Kerber (GER) 6-1. 4-6 and 6-2 this afternoon.

Jarka has been ousted from the 2010 US Open in the first round, falling to 2006 US Open champion Maria Sharapova (23) in three sets tonight. Playing in Arthur Ashe stadium for the second time in her career, Jarka was unable to turn a one set lead into her first victory over one of the game´s biggest stars, eventually falling 6-4, 3-6 and 1-6.

Jarka's first round US Open match vs. former World no. 1 Maria Sharapova has been scheduled for Arthur Ashe Stadium.  It will be the third match on tomorrow's schedule, featuring an approximate starting time of 15.30 (local time).

Jarka will open up her 2010 US Open campaign with a bang, having drawn three time-Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1 Maria Sharapova (RUS) in the first round of the year's last Grand Slam.
